The blockchain registers provide an additional, useful way of irrefutably timestamping information updates and also for verifying the integrity of that information. For example, if a Certificate is issued - or a tag is assigned to a work - the blockchain entry includes a digest, known as a 'hash', of the information created at the time, which can be used to verify that the relevant information hasn't been tampered with since it was created.

Where the Certificate issuer chooses for information to be backed up on to the blockchain, provenance record information is hashed (a hash value is a numeric value of a fixed length that uniquely identifies a larger piece of data) together with confidential information held by the collector and by Tagsmart.

Once you have placed and paid for your order, you will receive an email asking you to login or create your Tagsmart Account where you will be able to start adding works, and certifying.
